City tour
This excursion is to get you acquainted with the city of Moscow and its most important and beautiful sights. The place where the excursion starts depends on the hotel location. Any way you can't miss the city center - Red Square with the Lenin Mausoleum, and Tverskaya street - the most animated and saucy in Moscow. Then you are destined for the Novodevichy Convent situated in a very picturesque district of the city on the bank of the lake with white swans called after that "lake of swans". Then you will go to the Lenin's Hills which is considered to be the highest point of Moscow where you will enjoy a great panorama of the city. You will also see the Moscow State University of Lomonosov, one of the most popular in all Russia. Continuating the city tour, you will pass along the Kutusov street and visit the Victory park with its fountains and churches.
Kremlin is not only a residence of the Russian government but also a very interesting museum with buildings dated to 11-14th century. You will see the Cathedral Square with its cathedrals - Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral of the Annunciation and St.Archangel Cathedral of 12. The Cathedral of the Assumption is a place where different ceremonies were held: here the tsars and emperors were crownd. The Cathedral of the Annunciation was the home church of Moscow tsars. And the St.Archangel Cathedral served as the burial-vault of great princes and Russian tsars. If you wish, you could visit the Armoury - one of the oldest museums of Kremlin. It was built for making, purchasing and storing of weapons, jewelry and utensils, but then transformed into a museum where unique collections of Russian, West European and Oriental applied arts of the 5th-early 20th centuries. The Armoury houses an exhibition of the Diamond Fund where one can see the rarest stones and jewelry. In the monastery you will visit St.Trinity Cathedral where the shrine with St.Sergey's relics is stored, Assumption Cathedral that repeats by its forms the Assumption Cathedral of Kremlin.The most beautiful part of the monastery is represented by the two similar constructions one of which is the Ecclesiastical Academy and Seminary and the other the Refectory with the Church of St.Sergey that is visited inside.
Kuskovo
was built as Count Sheremetiev's suburban residence.The Palace is wooden but looks like a stone building thanks to the external finish. It accomodates the State Museum of Ceramics displaying a rich collection of porcelain, majolica and glassware. Besides the Palace, there are many other interesting structures in the territory of Kuskovo such as the church, the Italian and Dutch cottages, the grotto, the greenhouse and the hermitage which are all well-preserved.
Ostankino
palace and park complex built in classical style is situated is situated in the bosom of a large park with anciant oak groves and ponds. The right-hand wing of the palace houses a concert hall (known as the Egyptian Pavillion and the left-hand wing - statuary exhibits (known as the Italian Pavillion). The picture gallery of the palace displays West Europaintings of 17th and 18th centuries. And the St.Trinity Church is considered to be parcel of the complex.
Tsaritsyno
The palatial and park complex in Tsaritsyno is a unique architectural and landscaping ensemble and a specimen of the neo-Gotic style. Tow palaces linked by a gallery with a tracery archway of the gate, and the Grand Cavalry Stables form an architectural focus of the complex. Today some of the buildings at Tsaritsyno are occupied by the Museum of Applied, Decorative and Folk Arts.
Museum of Andrey Rublyov
This museum is situated in Andronikov Monastery and posseses a great collection of Russian icons.
The museum includes three expositions: one represents a gallery of portraits of militaries, the other is dedicated to the history of the war of 1812, and the third is the panarama itself.
It is a pedestrian area only. Arbat owes its unique athmosphere to its community of painters and musicians. It offers a world of souveniers such as matrioshkas, shawls and others.
